Irene E. Robertson

Irene Elizabeth Robertson, 87, of Clinton, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late James Allen Robertson, loving mother of Michael Thomas Robertson, Keith Patrick Robertson and the late James Allen Robertson, Jr. She is survived by three sisters, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was employed for over 20 years as a legal secretary for the Office of Information at Andrews Air Force Base. She received many commendations and awards for her service during her career.After retiring, she drove a school bus for Prince George’s County for several years. She was an active member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton.She loved nothing better than a rousing card game of Pitch or Rummy. We will fondly remember her “colorful” language. Irene was an avid Redskin fan, screaming and yelling at them whether winning or losing. She loved seeing all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and getting a “kiss” for Great-Granny.She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Allen, at the Veterans Cemetery at Cheltenham, Maryland.
