Iris M. Emmert

Iris M. Emmert of Ocean City, MD, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the age of 95. She was born and raised in Balitimore, MD; the daughter of Erma [Geiger] and Joseph Sebastian Seidl. She met the love of her life, Robert N. Emmert, and they were married in January, 1958. The young newlyweds lived in Washington, DC, until 1960 when they moved to Lanham, MD. After retirement, they moved to Ocean City, MD. Iris enjoyed playing Bingo, the slots and working crossword puzzles. Her favorite times and memories were spent with her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert N. Emmert, the loving mother of Iris Marie Schaecher (Karl) of Owings, MD and Robbie Emmert (Cheryl) of Dunkirk, MD. She was the devoted “Grandmom” to John Kotz (Amie), Jason Kotz, Justin Emmert (Lauren) and Ryan Emmert; and “Great-Grandmom” to Madison Kotz, Noelle Kotz, Jackson Emmert and Benjamin Emmert. Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, June 14th from 4 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd on Tuesday, June 15th at 11 am. Interment will be private.
