Jacqueline “Jackie” Elizabeth Smith of Sunderland, MD, passed away peacefully at the age of 85. Jackie was born in Cumberland, MD to Jesse and Arthur Hochard. In 1984, the family moved to Sunderland and was active in the community. Jackie’s favorite hobby was traveling around the United States in their motor home, especially going to locations on the water. When they weren’t out in the RV seeing the country, she enjoyed working in her garden. She was also known as a great cook. Jackie was an avid Washington Redskins fan. If they were playing, she was watching…and you better not block her view of the game. Jackie’s life was filled with love. Every new addition to the family made her heart grow and her faith became stronger. Her gentle touch and sweet smile will be greatly missed. She was the beloved wife for over 60 years to the late Edward Smith. Jackie was the loving mother of Diane Bennett (Rick) and Linda Cunningham (Dean). She was the devoted grandmother of Rickey David Bennett, Jr., Amber Wentz, Eric Rohde and Adria Parkinson. She was the great-grandmother of Alexea Wentz, Cassidy Rohde, Aleya Wentz, Aspen Bennett, Logan Bennett, Cruz Bennett, Gavin Rohde, Sydney Rohde and Scarlett Parkinson. She is also survived by her brother Arthur “Glen” Hochard and numerous other family and friends.
