James R. Chaney “Jimmy”, of Lanham, MD died on April 20, 2016 at the age of 80. Born in Washington, DC, Jimmy was one of three children born to Ruth (Larner) Chaney and Thomas Chaney. Jimmy worked for several car dealership in the 1950's through 1980's including, Hicks Cheverolet, Lustine Cheverolet, and Sport Chevrolet. In 1983, Jimmy, along with his wife, opened Chaney Stump Removal which he retired from in 1998. Beloved husband of Rebecca L. (King) Chaney of Lanham, MD; devoted father of Shawna Chaney of Napoleon, OH and Gregory King of Las Vegas, NV; loving grandfather of Cassandra Dickman of Napoleon, OH; cherished brother of Virginia Chaney of Baltimore, MD. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his brother, the late Thomas Chaney. A memorial gathering and service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Fellowship Church of White Plains, 9805 Faith Baptist Church Road, White Plains, MD 20695.
