James Oliver Ewing

James Oliver Ewing (Pop), 77, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland passed away on March 6, 2022.

Jimmy was born in Washington DC on December 1, 1944, to Washington Elwood Ewing and Catherine Ford Ewing. Jimmy attended Suitland High School.

Jimmy retired from Prince Georges County in 2012. He loved his Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals and NASCAR races. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved hunting and visiting with his extended family in Western, Maryland.  He was a lifetime member and past governor of the Marlboro Moose Lodge 1856, Deale Elks Lodge 2528, Sons of the American Legion Post 227, Midland Sportsman Club and Associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89.

Pop was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Louise Ewing Miller, his brother Howard Ewing, his second wife Elizabeth Geary Ewing and his daughter Melissa Jo Ewing. Pop is survived by his son Victor Elwood Ewing (Shelly), stepdaughter Melissa Geary Mills (Bobby) and his 4 grandchildren (Lauren and Michael Foley, Zachary and Zane Ewing), his niece Kelli Ewing Potter and nephew Howard Chip Ewing.

Services will be held at Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, Maryland, April 1, 2022, 10-12pm visitation and 12pm service.
