James M. "Jim" Fillmore of Bryans Road, MD passed on February 24, 2021. He was the son of OT and Mary Fillmore on May 12, 1933 in Hope, Michigan. He was also a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and best friend to so many. He was a proud Veteran of the Navy and a retiree of the Air Force, including serving in the Vietnam War. He also became a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1432. James grew up in Hope, Michigan and later went on to play minor league baseball. Later, he served in the military until his retirement. Following that, he became a civil servant until his full retirement. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria; sister Pauline DeMott; son Daniel; daughter Brenda Crowder; son James II; his Aunt Jo Cook; grandchildren Lance and Angel Zurfluh, Ingrid and James III; great-grandchildren Emma and Karlee Zurfluh; brothers-in-law Frank, Arturo, Joe, Oden, Ely and their families; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends Ellsworth and Shirley Jackson, and Gerald Wiggen. He was preceded in death by his parents OT and Mary, sister Dorothy Fraley, and daughter Joline. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial donations to the Disabled Americans Veterans (DAV) organization, the Veterans of Foreign Wars(VFW), or the organization of your choice.
