James P. Fox III

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James (Jimmie) P. Fox III, age 70, on January 29, 2025, at his home in Lothian, MD. Born on October 2, 1954, in Washington, DC, James lived a life defined by dedication and generosity to family and friends.

Jimmie was a loving husband to his wife, Eileen, of 42 years and a devoted father to his three children, Laura (Noel), Richard (Danielle), and Colleen, and a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren: Quinn, Walker, Emma, Cooper, Sadie, and Greysen, who brought boundless joy to his life.

He was survived by his mother, Catherine Maura Fox (James-d) and his sisters and brothers, Barbara (Alex-d), Cathy (Tom), Maura, Donna (Matt), Steven (Karen), Michael, Matt (Colleen), Brian (Melinda), Derek, Kyle, Erin (Michael), Chris (Kim), Helene (Ryan), Andrew (Becky), and Heather and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jimmie enjoyed spending his free time visiting with his grandkids, taking care of his dogs, gardening, fishing, visiting the Outer Banks, NC, and reminiscing with family and friends over good food and drinks. His warm heart, gentle spirit and generosity touched the lives of those who knew him. He will be missed and remembered by his unwavering dedication to his family and friends and his introspective comments and Irish Goodbyes.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736 followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel to celebrate his life. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the V-Foundation for Cancer Research or the Brendan Looney Foundation in James's honor.
