James Henry Gentry (Age 76) Jim was born to the late James and Nina Gentry in 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. As an infant, Jim was sent to live with his Aunt, Sarah McCormack, in Lonaconing, Maryland. Jim lovingly referred to Sarah as "ma" and thought of her as his mother. "Ma" raised Jim in Western Maryland where he graduated high school and then moved onto Frostburg State College where he graduated with a Masters of Education. Jim and his first wife, Bessie, met at Valley High School. Shortly after graduating in 1954, they started their family. Jim and Bessie had six children; Mike, Amanda, Mark, Marlon, Melissa and Mitchell whom they raised in Lonaconing, Maryland. Jim's career led him to Prince George's county where he worked as a special education teacher before leaving that position to work for the board of education as a Special Education Vocational Developmental Specialist. During this time he met and married his second wife, Carol Gentry. When that relationship came to an end, Jim wed Ruth Ann Moore-Gentry. They were married in 2005 and called Lothian, Maryland their home. Jim was an avid trapper. He specialized in trapping muskrat and fox. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Jim enjoyed the outdoors especially his sunsets on the patuxent. Jim had a special place in his heart for his dogs as well. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Moore-Gentry. He is the father to; Mike (Kathy) Gentry, of Lusby, MD, Amanda (Ed) Smith of Cumberland, MD, Mark (Connie) Gentry of Mechanicsville, MD, Marlon Gentry and his ex-wife, Deborah Gentry of Barton, MD and Melissa (Eric) Patterson of Barton, MD. Also survived by ex wives; Bessie Gentry and Carol Gentry, 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and other relatives. Preceded in death by son, Mitchell (Lori) Gentry and a grandson, Jamie Gentry. Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A.
