James Ira Hooe

James Ira Hooe, 84, of District Heights, MD, died on December 27, 2015. He is the beloved husband, of 61 years, to his wife Frances Loretta Hooe who died in 2014. He relished being a provider and taking care of his family. He served in the US Airforce for 25 years and received an honorable discharge. Upon his retirement, he worked as a United States Capitol Police Officer for 20 years. He is survived by a son, Donald L. Hooe (Donna); five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by a son in 1987, the late James F. Hooe. Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., Alexandria Ferry Rd and Coventry Way, Clinton, MD. Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2016, 11:30am at the funeral home chapel. Interment and honors will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
