James C. Humphrey,(Age 70), Of Clinton, James C. Humphrey, 70, of Clinton, Maryland died August 12, 2002 at the Malcolm Grow Medical Center on Andrews Air Force Base. Mr. Humphrey was born December 21, 1931 in Vallonia, Indiana. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to his honorable Retirement in 1982. His service vessels and stations included the USS Hissem, USS Massey, USS Cascade, NAVSTA Guantamo Bay Cuba and Naval Communciation Stations in Asmara Ethiopia, Washington DC and Annapolis MD. He was an active member of the Fleet Reserve. Mr. Humphrey then embarked on a second long and distinguished career with The Federal Government as an Engineering Technician in the Cryogenics Field at the David Taylor Naval Research and Development Center. Once again the recepient of numerous awards and honors, he held various patents for inventions and was a member of the David Taylor Naval Research Inventor's Club. With accomplishments and Honors too numerous to list he retired from the Federal Government in 1994 to spend time with his family and enjoy his favorite past times of tinkering and inventing. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Anna Marie Humphrey of Clinton, His children Catherine Humphrey of Clinton,Susan Young of Waldorf,Marianne McQuarrie and husband Ralph of Columbia and Michael Humphrey of Clinton, 4 grandchildren, His sister Barbara Hardin of Savannah, Ga.,his brother's Charles and John Humphrey of Salem, In, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on August 15, 2002 at the Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on August 16, 2002 in the Chapel of the Lee Fuenral Home followed by Burial at 3:00 P.M. with full Military Honors at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements are bring handled by the Lee Funeral Home.
