James Edward Murphy, Jr.\nPassed away on July 18, 2011 after a long illness. The beloved husband of Ann Murphy of Clinton, MD. Loving father of James (Paula) Murphy III and Mary Murphy. Also survived by grandchildren James Murphy IV and Kaitlin Murphy; sisters Rose Marie Pryle of Carbondale, PA and Frances McGlone of Manassas, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the son of James and Romaine Murphy of Carbondale, PA. James worked for D & H Railroad and was a past member of the PA National Guard. He joined the Metropolitan Police Department in 1955 and retired in 1978. He retired as a Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1991.
