James P. Musser

James P. Musser, “Pop Pop”, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2014 at Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home. He was born on January 4, 1933 in Six Mile Run, PA to the late Harvey Carson and the late Bessie Olive Musser.James graduated Class of 1951 from Saxton Liberty High School in Pennsylvania. There he met his high school sweetheart Dona Carberry, whom he would spend the next 65 years with. He played baseball, football and basketball. He went on to become an Honorary Member of Broad Top Old Timer’s Hall of Fame. On April 26, 1953, James married the love of his life Dona and from this union four children were born.James served in the United States Army during the Korean War and held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He went on to retire from the District of Columbia Housing Authority as a House Inspector.He was an avid sports fan and supported the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins. Most importantly, he enjoyed spoiling his children and grandchildren.James was formerly a member of Temple Hills Church of God and most recently a member of Accokeek First Church of God. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 60 years Dona, whom he affectionately called “Snook;” children Christopher Mark Musser, Kevin Matthew Musser (Debbie), Tricia Dawn Musser (Danny); grandchildren Joshua David Allison, Kristen Nicole Allison, Zachary James Graham; great granddaughter Alayna Nicole Allison; brother Harvey Musser; sister Shirley Eichelberger; extended family Vickie, Crystal and Christian Galentine, Brianna Hawkins, Joey Stanley, Darlene Covolo, Tami Paris, Sandy Hamilton, Tina Adkinson and Vincent Wells.He was preceded in death by his parents; son Timothy James Musser; brothers Donald, Alfred and Jessie Musser; sisters Vera Hicklin, Pearl Makinshak and Thelma Carberry.
