Major James K. Quinn U.S. Army Retired1927 - 2013James K. Quinn 85, of Upper Marlboro, MD died on Friday February 15, 2013 at Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD. Born in Dallas, TX he was a son of the late Charles and Lora (Hulett) Quinn. He was married to Sylvia L. (Gayle) Quinn. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 7, 2013.He served twenty years in the United States Army retiring with the rank of Major in 1965, having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He enjoyed genieology, reading, puzzles, and spending time with his family. Along with his wife he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Williams (Gary) and Cynthia Carle, a sister Louabella Cyrs, three grandchildren, Connie M. Williams (Joe), Alonzo R. Carle IV (Amanda), and James A. Carle (Brandi), eight great grandchildren, Megan A. Cook, Jessie D. Williams, Alonzo D. Carle, Kayla Carr, Damien A. Carle, Joseph Damuth, Ryan Makoutz, and Savanna I. Carle, two great-great grandchildren, Mason W. Cook and Aden Carle. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Amber M. Carle and a great great granddaughter Melanie M. Cook.Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
