James Edward Stone

James Edward Stone (Jim) of Upper Marlboro, MD passed peacefully in his sleep on May 4, 2022. Born in Chattanooga, TN, Jim left as a teenager in search of an easier life when he chose to join the U.S. Army. He eventually went on to join the 82nd Airborne as a Paratrooper and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. It was during this time he met his wife of 62 years, Saundra Stone (Yates). Medically discharged due to a few shattered ankles, he and his wife settled in Maryland where they began their family. Jim became a member of the Local Sheet Metal Union where he learned the trade.  After tiring of working for others, he ventured out on his own and started up his own business, Jim Stone Mechanical/HVAC company, which served him well up until his time of death. Anyone who knew Jim would attest to his life of hardwork and dedication to the care of his family. 

 

Jim, (Daddy, Poppy) is survived by his wife, Saundra Stone of Davie, FL, daughter Stephanie Madden of Johnson City, TN (Rick Chadwell, Robin, Pamela, Mark), daughter Jennifer Bryant of King George, VA (Scott Summers, Tiffany Bryant, Jay Elliott II, Fallynn Plante), son James Christopher Stone (Cheryl Bender) of Tucson AZ, and daughter Rosemary (Nici) Hossain of Orlando, Fl (Rizwan Hossain, Nicholas, Kariza and Joshua). He was preceded in death by son's Mark and Jeffrey Stone and daughter Kimberly Stone of St. Marys, MD. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, extended family, friends and loyal customers. He will be greatly missed by all. 

 

In lieu of flowers, personal donations may be made to the family, in the name of Jennifer Bryant, in care of Jim Stone. Internment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
