James Thomas White (Age 61)On Saturday, June 5, 2004, James Thomas White, 61, died at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, Maryland. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna H. White; his sons, Craig T. White and Jason J. White and his wife Michelle; his brother, Richard White and wife Sue of Palm Harbor, Florida; his sister, Bonnie Fretwell and husband James of Virginia Beach, Virginia.James was born on November 30, 1942 in Cumberland, Maryland. After spending his childhood in Cumberland, James graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1960 and Frostburg University in 1964. He began a career in teaching with his first job at Suitland High School in Prince Georges County. He remained in the Prince Georges County School System until he retired in 1995 as a vice principal at Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Bowie. He was very dedicated to the teaching profession. James moved to Chesapeake Beach, Maryland in Calvert County in 1990. After a brief retirement, James became a Calvert County School bus driver for 6 years. He re-entered the teaching profession where he taught history at Northern High School for four years and coached swimming through 2003. James was a member of the Huntingtown United Methodist Church and was active in the Clinton & Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Departments. He achieved Life Time Membership at the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a proud recipient of the Fire Fighter Of The Year Award by the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department in 1994.A memorial service will be held at Huntingtown United Methodist Church, 4020 Hunting Creek Road, Huntingtown, Maryland on Friday, July 9th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carole Silbaugh officiating. Inurnment will be private.
