Janice Carter

Janice Ellene Davis was born March 11, 1944 to Arthur M. Davis and Ernestine R. Davis in Washington, DC. She entered eternal rest on November 2, 2023 at Medstar Southern Hospital Center in Clinton, MD. Janice received her education in the DC public school system and graduated from Eastern High School in 1961. She later attended and graduated from American University in Washington, DC with a degree in Economics.

Janice had 3 children: Michael Arthur, Janeen Monique and Wallace Lee (deceased).

After years of working as a computer programmer for multiple private companies, Janice retired and started a hatmaking business - Isis Fashions. She was a woman of many talents. In addition to making hats, she enjoyed sewing as well as completing home improvement projects on her home.

Janice was known for her sense of humor, quick-wittedness and being an avid storyteller of her life’s experiences. As long as she had a listening ear, she had a story to tell. She was a woman of great strength, courage and wisdom. While her life may not have been the easiest, her resilience is what brought her through each and every challenge.

One thing that set her apart was that she lived life on her own terms even until the very end. Most that knew her knew that she was extremely self-reliant in everything she did.

Janice leaves to honor her memory her children Janeen (Carlos) and Michael, her grandchildren Camryn Janae and Caia Ellynn, a host of family and close friends.
