Jean Broussard Green

December 28, 1950 — March 24, 2013

Jean Broussard Green was born on December 28, 1950 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Jean was a very energetic child who loved to play and adored clothes and insisted on dressing well. After graduating from high school, where she was a cheerleader, Jean joined the United States Air Force. Joining the military allowed Jean to travel around the world. Some of the most memorable places she lived in were Taipei, Taiwan, Hawaii, California, Colorado, and Maryland. Jean served for twenty years in the United States Air Force. At the time of her retirement, she had attained the rank of Master Sergeant. Jean ended her military career Clinton, Maryland where she had been stationed at Andrews’ Air Force Base. Jean remained in Maryland and went on to work for the Parking Authority and Raytheon. About 6 years ago, Jean began having difficulties with her health. She courageously fought through all of the health issues with grace and determination. She was able to enjoy life with her family and friends a little longer with the implantation of her heart pump that she affectionately named, Denzel. She was also blessed a year ago to receive a heart transplant. All of her family and friends know her pain and suffering has ended. On March 24, 2013, her suffering came to an end and she is finally at peace. Those who knew and loved Jean will always remember her warmth and laughter. No matter what the task was, Jean believed that if you started something you must see it through until the end. It is how she lived her life and a mantra she instilled in her children, grandchildren and loved ones. Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her living mother Muh, her sons Jesse “Earl”, and Kori, daughter-in-love Denita, her three angels Briana, Jessica, and Nicole, her “boo” Willie “Jack” Davis, sister Anne, brother Hayward, goddaughters Jazmin Williams and Courtney Hall, friends that were sisters and brothers Elroy “Sly” (Lynda) Jackson, Cornell “Smokey” (Bianca) Langford, Joe Harrell, uncle Antoine, niece Haniyyah (Niya), nephew Khalil, and very close military family members, extended family members, former co-workers and a host of dear friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inova Fairfax Hospital 8110 Gatehouse Rd.
