Jeanette F. Stokes

Jeanette F. Stokes passed at her residence in Afton, VA (formerly of Clinton, MD) on August 9, 2016 at the age of 88. Jeanette was born in Washington, D.C., to Dorothea P. (Taylor) and Arthur E. Fleig on April 17, 1928. Jeanette worked for Hadley Memorial Hospital for many years, first as a cashier and later as a bookkeeper. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, cross stitching, reading, Sudoku, and crossword puzzles. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Stokes; devoted mother of Dorothea P. Keith (Bill) of Coloma, Michigan, Robert F. Stokes, Jr. (Lori) of Midway, Tennessee, Pat France (Kit) of Afton, VA, and David C. Stokes, Sr. (Bonita) of White Plains, Maryland; dear sister of Anna Brady, Dorothy McAuliffe (deceased), Mary Tillman, twins Arthur (deceased) and John Fleig, Pauline Carroll, and Betsy Hatten (deceased); loving grandmother of Katherine Keith, Karen Keith Marsh (Timothy), Robert Stokes III (Stephanie), Nicholas Stokes (Kasi), Lindsey France Leahy (Jordan), and David C.
