Jefferson C. Josephs

Jefferson Clarence Josephs, better known as J.C., passed away on October 11, 2018 at 8:50am in Clinton, Maryland, U.S.A. He was born on October 5, 1939 in LaPlaine, Dominica, to the late Clement Josephs and Anastasie Hurtault. On June 24, 1964 he married Clarina Abella Josephs who also preceded him in death. From 1970 Mr. and Mrs. J.C. resided at 38 Steber Street in Pottersville and migrated to the United States in September of 2005. J.C. was also preceded in death by his brothers Ossie and Jason Josephs and Errol Rolle; Grandmother Emmie Hurtault (Ma Papi); and his Mother-in-Law Louisa Boyer-Toussaint among others. J.C. leaves to mourn, His children: Justin C Josephs in Dominica, Clarissa A Josephs-Matthew and J Carlvin Josephs in the United Kingdom, Justave Cordelle Josephs and Corliss A Josephs-Conway in the United States, Daniel Josephs in Guadeloupe, and Jefferson Josephs in Canada. Sons-in-Law: Davidson Matthew and Glenn Conway Daughters-in-Law: Rhoda Ryner-Josephs and Wendy Josephs. Grandchildren: Cashila, Cladessa, Cherelle, Jovan, Jamahl, Myranda, Daniel, Jackim and Jahia Josephs; Kester, Clari-Louise and Kelby Matthew; Travis and Michaela Conway. Brothers: Julien, Alick and Jepson Josephs. Sisters: Jeanette Rolle; Judith Placid; Josephine, Juliette, Clementine, Marlene, Marilynn and Vivianne Josephs. Numerous other close relatives and friends including: Seraphine Hurtault and daughter, Phyllis (Meyon) Bertrand and family; the Hurtault family of Case O Gowrie and LaPlaine; Lovertie Greenaway and family; Roy and Cynthia Royer and family; Eudora Shaw and family; Josie Stephenson and family; the Auguiste family; the Caesar family; Annette St. Hilaire and family; and the Residents and Staff of the Fort Washington Health Center in Maryland. Viewing will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm with a remembrance service and prayers starting at 7pm at Lee Funeral Home – Clinton, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD, U.S.A 20735. The Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 20, 2018 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. A Burial mass and Interment will take place in Dominica at a place and time to be announced later.
