Joan Vivian Miller, 78, Clinton Joan Vivian Miller, 78, co-owner of "Miller Farms" in Clinton, Maryland died suddenly January 21, 2013 at her home in Clinton, Maryland. Born April 6, 1934 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Bennie E. Garrett and Genevia Dennison. She graduated from Suitland High School and married Henry P. Miller on November 2, 1951. She went on to work as a secretary at Andrews Air Force Base for several years before becoming a stay at home mother to her six children. She attended St. Mary's Piscataway in Clinton and Immaculate Conception in Mechanicsville. She always enjoyed reading. In her younger years she enjoyed sunbathing, family vacations to Ocean City, and drive-in movies. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos, and her weekends in St. Mary's County. She is proceeded in death by her husband Henry P. Miller and her son Wayne J. Miller. She is survived by her companion Chandler Dunston of Mechanicsville, her son Henry Philip Miller, Jr. and wife, Sandi (Shelley) of Clinton, daughter Cherie L. Barry and companion, Emil Clark, Jr. of Waldorf, daughter Betty A. Fugate and husband, Ted of St. Leonard, daughter Lynn M. Dunston, and husband, Dale of Mechanicsville, son Ronald E. Miller and wife, Charlotte of Clinton, daughter-in-law, Wendy Miller of St. Leonard, sister Carol Lee Melvin and husband Ray of Waldorf, and sister Suzanne Oliver of Huntington. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 3:00 – 8:00 Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Lee Funeral Home, Clinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Noon, Friday, January 25, 2013 at St. Mary's Piscataway, Clinton followed by a internment at Resurrection Cemetery.
