Mrs. Joan Burke Stephens-Morgan, 69, of Brandywine, MD, passed away at home November 4th , 2022.
Joan was born June 15th, 1953 to the late Lewis Winfield and Loretta Burke Stephens in Baltimore, MD.
She worked as a licensed veterinary technician and spent many years working to help sick and injured
animals as well as their pet parents. She first worked for Alexandria Animal Hospital and then retired
from the profession working for her friend Rand Wachsstock and Radiocat – Centers for the treatment
of feline hyperthyroidism.
Joan recused many Rottweilers and loved all animals – big, small, domestic, or wild. Each spring she
looked forward to Hummingbird season with the excitement of a child before Christmas. She is also
survived by her last dog Chloe – a golden retriever that was her heart. We know her reunion with
Bandit, Lia, Russell, Joey, Leslie and Paddy will be special.
In addition to her husband, Brian Morgan, she is survived by her brother Lewis Winfield Stephens Jr. of Charlottesville, VA, her
cousin Claire Gallagher of Spring Lake, NJ, and many more relatives and close friends.
