With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Joanne Gibbs Wasson, 88, of Clinton, Maryland. We are saddened to announce her passing on July 2, 2024. She was preceded by her parents, Irene and Meredith GIbbs, her sister, Suzanne Quigg and her oldest daughter, Stacia Newman. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bob, and her six children, Tracia (Chris) Adams, Kelly (Mark) Castagna, Kimberly Wasson, Valerie (Brian) Peters, Robert (Maureen) Wasson, and Erick (Megan) Wasson, her sixteen grandchildren, and her eighteen great-grandchildren.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joanne’s life and legacy on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 8908 Old Branch Avenue, Clinton, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
