John T. Bugg was born on March 6, 1936 in LaCrosse, VA (Mecklenburg County). He was the oldest of three children. John was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute. John’s hobbies included listening to his favorite jazz musicians and entertaining his family and friends who were very dear to him. John spent 50 years of his life working with his friends as an advocate for the District of Columbia taxi drivers/entrepreneurs so that they could receive a fair return on their investments in the industry. They were successful many times. Prior to illness, John was the owner of the Washingtonian Cab Company, the only African American Cab Company in the Metropolitan Area. Cherishes loving memories of his life are his wife, Linda Adams Bugg who joined in Holy Matrimony on April 4, 1964. To this union, one son was born David Josias Bugg (Ana Negoescu) and a grandson Silviu M. Bugg of Washington, DC. He was also survived by 3 sisters-in-law Carole Thompson, Ann Windsor and Jane Curtis and 5 brothers-in-law Hosea Thompson, Herman Windsor, Dale Curtis, Bernard Adams and Lawrence Adams and a host of other special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Dorsey Bugg, sister Joan Andrews and brother Leon Bugg.
