John M. DiBari, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewes, Delaware on the morning of Sunday, June 25. He was born on May 14, 1941, in Washington, D.C. In 1959, John graduated from Alexander Graham Bell High School and subsequently enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 4 years. He met Marjorie V. Griffin at their place of employment, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and married on June 1, 1968, in Washington, D.C. Along with his mother Sue and brother August, John proudly operated their family restaurant, AV Ristorante Italiano, located in Washington D.C, until closing in 2007 and retiring to the beach in Lewes. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Marjorie; their daughter, Lisa DiBari Kans, and son-in-law, Robert E. Kans; and much beloved granddaughter, Gillian Rose Kans. He was also survived by his sisters Linda Parker and Maria Vasaio and brothers August Vasaio and Edward Vasaio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael DiBari and Sue Vasaio. There will be a viewing held on Friday, July 7 from 2:00 ~ 4:00 pm and 6:00 ~ 8:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home Calvert located at 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736. A funeral service will be held in his honor from family and friends at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, Owings, MD followed by burial services at Resurrection Cemetery at 8000 Woodyard Road Clinton, MD 20735.
