\nJohn R. Miller\n \n \n \nPassed away on January 20, 2011. He was born Feb. 11, 1927 to John Henry and Helen M. (Vermillion) Miller. He married Audrey Gene Owens on Nov. 6, 1946. Together they had children: Pamela Dawn (George) DeTurris, Felicity Amanda Miller and Timothy John (Jennifer) Miller; Grandchildren: Christopher (Jamie), Charity, John Anthony, Tyler and Indigo. Great Grandchildren Jubilee, Christopher and Bella. John’s siblings are Warner Miller, Jim (Joyce) Miller and the late Patricia Louizes. Sisters-in-law: the Late Eula Horn, Mary (Jim) Simpson, and Irma Herbert. \n John owned and operated his business, Miller’s Interiors, Inc. He was author of Training for Design Related Trades and a columnist for the Washington Star from 1971 – 1979. He served on the Board of Directors at St. Barnabus Venture, Temple Hills, the Member Pres.’s Committee on Employment of Handicapped, the White House Design Committee, Presidential Barrier Free Design Committee and US Navy. \n He was a member of Fellow Am. Society Interior Designers where he served as President of the Potomac Chapter from 1973-1980, National Director from 1960-1974 and Chairman Opportunity Guidance Council 1972-1974. Member of Society Interior Design and Tantallon Country Club.\nIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children’s Hospital.
