John A. Palmer Jr. died unexpectedly at Doctor’s Hospital on September 29th, 2020 in New Carrollton, MD at the age of 85. John was born on August 11th 1935 in Boston, MA to John A Sr. and Mabel Palmer. John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Franca, his son Anthony, daughter Laura, and grandchildren Mark and Jennifer. He graduated from High School and join the National Guard. During his term over-seas, he went on a double-date with a buddy and met the love of his life. Upon returning to the states John, Franca and their new son made home in Bangor, ME. Three years later their daughter was born. In 1966 the family moved to Maryland and John start a career with Western Union, working on many exciting projects (first micro-computer chip, Air Force One, White House communication, etc.) until retiring. He continued his pursuit for enrichment with many companies, lastly teaching Lincoln Technical School in Columbia, MD. John also loved to volunteer; Boy Scouts of America, Civil Air Patrol, HOA of Eastpines, and lastly New Carrollton Library where he served as the Treasurer. A private funeral is scheduled for October 5th 2020 at 11am at Resurrection cemetery in Clinton, MD.
