JOHN E. ROBEYFormerly of Clinton, MD, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at his daughter's home in Portville, NY, following a long illness. Born June 10, 1923 in White Plains, MD, he was the son of John and Hattie Mae Hill Robey. A World War II veteran, he served with the US Army in the European Theatre. He was employed at C&P Telephone Company for 42 years. Mr. Robey was a member of Mount Calvary Roman Catholic Church, Forestville, MD, VFW Post 9619, Morningside, MD, Knights of Columbus, Forestville, MD, American Legion, Clinton, MD and a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #616, Olean, NY. Surviving are a daughter, Sherry (Jerry) Smith of Portville, NY; three grandchildren, Tim (Renee) Smith, Paul (Shannon) Smith and Brenda (Brad) Fairfield; six great-grandchildren and sister, May Whittington of Clinton, MD. He was predeceased by his sister, Rachel Murphy. Friends may call at LEE FUNERAL HOME, INC., Branch Ave. and Coventry Way, Clinton, MD on Monday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Mount Calvary Roman Catholic Church, Forestville, MD on Tuesday, March 6 at 10 a.m., with interment to follow in Washington National Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
