John Joseph Silva

John J. Silva, age 82, of White Plains, Maryland, died on May 17, 2015.Born in Hudson Massachusetts; he is the son of the late Laura (Gomes) and Manuel Caetanho Silva. John lived his early years growing up in the town of Hudson where he later graduated from Hudson High School in 1950. A year later, he entered the United States Air Force in Boston, Massachusetts in 1951.During his first overseas tour in Germany, John met the love of his life, Marianne Eckhardt, who he later married July 4th, 1956.After 20 years of honorable service and achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, he was discharged from the USAF at Andrews Air Force Base in 1971. He continued his carrier with the Federal Communications Commission, where after 22 years as a Civil Servant, he retired in 1993.John loved to spend time with his family. His hobbies included bass fishing, reading, world politics, and following his favorite sports team, the Boston Red Sox.He is survived by his two sons, Christopher Silva (and wife Tina) of Frederick, Maryland and Mark Silva (and wife Sheree) of Newark, Delaware. He is also survived by his four grand children; Christopher, Philip, Erin, and Angela, and three great grandchildren; Mac, Lauren, and Lilly.
