John Mundell Sweeney Sr

John “Jack” M. Sweeney Sr. ,93, of Owings, MD died peacefully on Sunday September 15, 2024. Born in Washington D.C to the late John H. Sweeney and Anna Mundell. Jack was proceeded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years Veronica “Ronnie”, son Kevin Sr., brothers Bob, Harry, Richard and Johnny. 

 He retired from the United States Postal Service. Jack loved sports; especially baseball. He had a deep passion for the game and played for many years. He was a great story teller and enjoyed taking those he loved on adventures. He leaves behind to cherish his memory three children, Jack Jr. (Melody), Patrick, and Sharon (Todd), seven grandchildren Kevin Jr. (Evan), Rusty (Kathryn), Kristina (Curtis), Jessica (Nate), Rebecca (Mariano),Sean (Madison),and Meghan, six great grandchildren Cloe, Adam, Lily, Remi, Allison, and Hailey, sister Evelyn, brother David and many nieces and nephews. Jack was an animal lover, especially dogs so the family requests memorial contributions in his name be made to your local humane society.
