Johnnie Lee Spears, 85 of Lothian, MD peacefully went home to rest with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 19, 2022, at Calvert Memorial Hospital, after losing her battle with aplastic anemia. Johnnie was born October 4, 1936, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Joseph D. and Dossie (Noles) Outler. Johnnie married Dennis R. Spears, on August 6, 1955, in Hot Springs. Two years later they moved to Maryland, where they raised a family of four boys. Johnnie loved her family and enjoyed gathering for cookouts, holidays, and many Birthday celebrations.
It has been said that Johnnie never met a stranger. She talked with everyone she passed by and spoke with them as if she had known them forever. Johnnie was a member of Dunkirk Baptist Church and the Prince George’s County Police Citizens Organization. She loved to read, do word search puzzles, watch cooking shows and old movies on T.V., flowers and all babies. She will lovingly be missed by her son Dennis, Jr (Barb), Dale (Candy), Derrick (Lori). Grand children Brian (Kelly), Dale, Jr. (Emily), Christine “Chrissy” and Emily. Great grandchildren Cherokee and Jamie Weimert & their mom Amie, and many relatives, and friends.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother (Louie Outler), son (Darren), and grandson (Jamie Weimert).
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Procession will follow to Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
