Jose David Rivera

Jose D. “Jay” Rivera, age 56 of Owings, MD passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Micki Rivera, two daughters; Cheniqua Rivera and Janina Rivera, parents; Jose and Carmen Rivera. sister, Evelyn Rivera, future son-in-law Steve Haman, and granddaughter Sanaa Haman, plus host of other loving relatives and friends.\n \n \n \n Mr. Rivera move to Owings in 1996 and worked as a Management Analyst for the Air National Guard retiring in 2006. His hobbies included music, cooking and being outdoors surrounded by and enjoying nature. He was a “founding” member of an “exclusive group” of friends known as the Life Dancers Ltd. Whose motto was “If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance”. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a loving husband, a good son, gentle parent and good friend.\n \n \n \nA memorial service was held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, with Deacon Jack Etzel officiating.
