LT. COLONEL JOSEPH A. ARENA\nHe was born in Welch, West Virginia on March 22, 1941 to Sam and Sue Arena. \nJoseph was the beloved husband of Maryann (Costa) Arena and the loving father of Erik J. Arena (Ivonne) and Kenneth M. Arena. He was the devoted grandfather to Christina Marie Arena.\nJoseph graduated from Northfork High School, and went on to attend the University of West Virginia in Morgantown, West Virginia, where he graduated in 1963 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. In June, 1979 he graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama, with an M.B.A. \nJoseph served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1983. He distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Air Force in Washington, DC, from May, 1981 to May, 1983. From 1983 to 2006, he worked for the Institute for Defense Analysis (IDA) as Assistant Vice President for Administration.\nUpon retirement, Joseph was able to enjoy his love of reading, sports, politics and granddaughter. He had a passion for history and Joseph has left his mark in history with his family, friends and country. Always happy, he knew how to appreciate what is most important in life.
