Joseph M. Gibson Jr.1918 - 2013Joseph M. Gibson Jr., 95, of Bryantown, MD on Sunday October 6, 2013 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, LaPlata, MD. Born in Washington, DC he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Novella (Sargent) Gibson. He was the beloved husband of Elsie M. (Connolly) Gibson. They celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2013. He was a graduate of Armstrong High School, Washington, DC. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a supervisor for the United Sates Postal Service retiring in 1973 after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Anglers All Fishing Club for many years. He also belonged to the Miner Club which was affiliated with the former Miner Teachers College in Washington, DC. He enjoyed sports and was a Redskins and Wizards fan. He also enjoyed watching Tiger Woods play golf, playing poker, going to casinos, and traveling along with working in his yard,entertaining and spending time with his family. Surviving along with his wife are a son Joseph M. Gibson III (Vickie), a daughter Patricia G.Shannon (Kenneth), three grandchildren, Eric Patrick Gibson (Tracie), Kelley Shannon (David), Kenneth Shannon Jr. (Milena), six great grandchildren, Raven, Brendon, Sydney, Kelsie, Jami, and Emil, a brother-in-law Fountain W.
