Joseph Americo “Rick” Giovannoni passed away on Sep 19, 2021 at the age of 63. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 4, 1958 to Raymond Americo Giovannoni and Patrice Ann Kirkland. He is survived by his mother, his loving wife, Sherry Giovannoni (nee Hughes) his daughter, Savannah Giovannoni, son, Joseph Maxx Giovannoni, stepson Richard Miller (Rachel) and grandchildren Vickie Lee Miller and Christian Richard Miller. Rick attended Linton Hall Military Academy, Randolph Macon Military Academy and graduated from Chantilly High School, where he was a member of the marching and symphonic bands. Rick was a restauranteur who built numerous restaurants over the years. The Fish Market Restaurant in Alexandria and Richmond, Virginia; Wilmington, North Carolina and Clinton, Maryland, as well as Il Porto in Norfolk, Virginia; Stonewall Cafe in Richmond, Virginia; The Alamo in Alexandria; Virginia and Pop’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream in Alexandria, Virginia. He was also a passionate and accomplished drummer. He has performed with many local musicians throughout his life, most notably with 4 out of 5 Doctors and The House Band. He was a member of the Old Dominion Boat Club and The Restaurant Association of Maryland. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday Sep 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Piscataway, 13405 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. Burial and Repast will be private.
