Joseph "Monty" Gray

Joseph “Monty” Gray, 78, of Temple Hills, Maryland, passed away on June 30, 2016. He was born on February 9, 1938, to Joseph Warren Gray and Ella Mae (Biggs) Gray in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland, in 1956, he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his Honorable Discharge, Monty had a long career working for Rockingham and Pepco as a lineman. He served as his mother’s caretaker for over 10 years. Monty greatly enjoyed tending to his garden and loved to provide homegrown food to family and friends. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his several of his cousins. Monty is survived by his mother Ella Mae Gray and many cousins, whom he considered as his brothers and sisters: Virginia Lee Vann, June L. Settle, George E. Brown, Sheala A. Delozier, Jeanette McKenna, Elizabeth A. Thompson, Ralph “Rudy” Gue, Joseph Gue, Raymond Gue, Patricia Stonestreet, and Joan Griffin.
