JOYCE B. GRIFFIN - TEMPLE HILLS, MD\nJoyce Belle Griffin, 79, of Temple Hills, MD passed away on October 9, 2010, after a long illness.\nShe was born in Washington, DC in July 1931, the daughter of the late Frances Briggs Stivers. Joyce attended Eastern High School and it was there that she met her husband, George Anthony Griffin. The family lived in Hillcrest Heights and Temple Hills, MD, where they raised five children.\nJoyce was a devoted wife and mother and took great joy in gardening, sewing, entertaining and providing for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband. She leaves to cherish her memory her children—Susanne (Jay) Rakes of Norfolk, VA, Thomas Griffin of Alexandria, VA, Catherine Hebert of Dover, NH, Patricia Griffin of Washington, DC, and Jeanette (Rob) Dalrymple of Westminster, MD; five grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Ann Griffin Fisher, and other extended family members.\nFamily will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 11am to 1pm, and hold a service beginning at 1pm.
