Deceased Name: Judith “Judy” Grimes Birckhead passed away on January 18,
2023. Born April 27, 1941, in Washington, D.C. to Thomas Guy Grimes and
Harriett Elizabeth Baden.
Judy was the oldest child of 11, she joins her husband Ernie, Father, Mother,
brothers John Grimes, Billy Catterton, Bobbie Catterton, and sister Betty Ann
Wathen. Judy loved spending time with family - her Children, Grand
Children, Great Grand Children. Judy loved to read, play cards, cross stich
and was the beloved wife of Ernie Birckhead. Judy is survived by her brothers
- Art Grimes, Walter Grimes, Kenny Catterton, Duke Catterton, Rock
Catterton; sister - Nancy Sexton; children - Cheryl Heath (daughter) and
husband Bob; Ryland Pine (son) and wife Rita; Trestan Pine (son), Marcie
Cossa (daughter) and husband Tony; 9 grandchildren – Jennifer, Michelle,
Abigail, Rebecca, Annabelle, Angel, Moses, Krystina, and baby boy Pine yet to
arrive; 4 great grandchildren – Trevor, Dylan, Lilith, and Emma.
Judy was a member of the OES at Camp Springs Lodge (Unity #112) for 50
years and served a total of 3 times as Worthy Matron.
