It is with great sadness that the family of Judson “Slick” Elwood Holmes Sr., of Huntingtown, MD, announce his passing on January 17, 2021, at age 79. Judson, the first of ten siblings, was born in Midland, VA on April 4, 1941 to the late Judson and Ethel Holmes. Judson will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years Patricia Ann Holmes. He will be forever remembered by his children: Joyce, Cathy, Pam and Jay, grandchildren: Joey, Joshua, Patty, Amber and the late “DJ” and his great-grandchildren: Kinley and Klay. Judson had many passions, but none more important than husband, father and grandfather. He was a great outdoorsman, avid fisherman, hunter and loved his vegetable garden. Judson had an extraordinary sense of humor, a kind heart and was a joy to be around. He was a lifelong, die-hard Washington Redskins fan and an animal lover who adored his beloved dogs. He was a “jack of all trades” and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Judson did stainless steel work his entire life and worked at A.K. Metals in Alexandria, VA up until he retired.
