Judy Faye Swinford

Judy Faye Swinford passed after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born January 14, 1952 in Paw Paw, Kentucky to William and Gladys.

She graduated from Lackey High School and attended college at The University of Maryland College Park. This is where she met the love of her life, Bruce Swinford. She graduated with a degree in business, and shortly after graduation they married and began their journey together.

Judy obtained a position with FEMA and retired as a Financial Policy Specialist.

Judy and Bruce had one daughter, Ashley. Together they enjoyed many vacations to Disney world, Mytle Beach, Tropical Islands, and London. Traveling the world together they made many beautiful memories. They loved and cherished every moment together.

Judy’s earthly treasures were her grandchildren, Giorgio, Juliana, and Nicholas. She enjoyed baking cookies with the kids, and every moment she got to spend with them. Judy also enjoyed cooking and going to the beach. Her favorite past time was event planning for her family, and hosting family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Bruce Swinford, her mother Gladys, and her father William, and brothers, Delmer and Elmer.

She is survived by her daughter Ashley, and son in law Giorgio, grandchildren Giorgio, Juliana, and Nicholas, sisters Sue and Sherry, brothers Ronnie and Patrick.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm., where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
