June Celestial Russell

June Celestial Martin Russell was born to the late Louis and Irene Martin in Princess Anne, Maryland on March 9, 1924. She was one of 12 children. June received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. June married the love of her life, the late Donald Henry Russell, Sr., on November 3, 1945. From this beautiful union, they were blessed with six children, the late Donald Jr., Lonnie, Wendy, Lourene, Denise and Martin. June was a devoted wife, mother and was employed by the Wicomico County Board of Education as a cafeteria attendant. June’s passion was her faith in God, love of her husband and family, and life in general. June, also known as “June Bug”, enjoyed working on puzzles, listening to music, cheering for the Washington Redskins, enjoying her grand and great-grandchildren and watching movies with her family and friends. On November 28, 2019, June peacefully slipped away to be with God and our beloved father. Her husband of 49 years, Donald, Sr., son, Donald, Jr., three brothers, Elbert, Walter, Grant and three sisters, Lourene, Mary and Justelma, preceded her in death. June leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Wendy (Edgar), Lourene (Ronald), Denise; two sons, Lonnie (Cookie), Martin; three brothers, Louis, Harry and Oswald; two sisters, Martha and Jewel; 13 grandchildren, Stacey Huggins, Sherrie Russell, Lauren Russell, Kelly Key, Katina Washington, Marcus Key, Darnell Key, Charles Philson III, Danielle Ray, Anthony & Ashley Brown, April & Natasha Russell; 16 great-grandchildren, Ky’ono, Aaliyah Marie, Travis, Bentley, Raymond, Tionne, Tamari, Marcus, Aaron, Alana, Camryn, Aalyze, Antoine, Alijah, Ahrianna, Zariah Skye and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
