Karen Lynne Senior

Karen Lynne Senior, 66 of Deale, MD passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 24, 2022. She was born on August 17, 1956 in Cheverly, MD to John and Dorothy (Kneessi) Strine. Karen grew up in Capitol Heights, MD just a few houses from her childhood sweetheart Merle Jack Senior, Jr. They later married and had 2 daughters in Seat Pleasant, MD before moving to the Shady Side/Deal area.

Karen was employed at Christopher's Fine Foods (formally IGA, Foodrite) for more than 35 years where she was the front end manager for most of her time there. She truly cared for those she worked with.

Family was most important to her. She enjoyed getting together whether it was to go camping, to the beach or simply sitting down to a bushel of crabs. But the one thing that brought her the most joy was watching her only grandson Billy "Pooh" grow into the amazing young man he is today.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers John "Ditty" Strine, Jr and James "Jimmy" Strine. She is survived by her husband Merle Senior, daughters Rhonda Nimmerrichter (and Jr) of Lothian, MD. Tina Graves (husband Billy) of Deale, MD and grandson Billy Graves III. She is also survived by brothers Charles "Charlie" Strine (Beth Ann), Wayne Strine (Candy), Robert Strine and sisters Marie "Sissie" White, Jeanette Huckleby (Rick) along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 11:00am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3270 Broomes Island Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
