Katherine C. GreenKatherine Cecelia Green, "Kitty", 71, of Hollywood, MD, died peacefully on Saturday, August 9th at her home surrounded by family.Born January 5, 1932 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late William B. and Sarah L. Smith of Leonardtown, Maryland.Kitty grew up in the Washington D.C. area. She then moved to Oxon Hill, Maryland and later to Clinton, Maryland where she raised her family before returning to St. Mary's County with her husband to spend their retirement years.She worked for Sears Department Store for 13 years. In addition, she was a member of the Clinton America Legion Post 295 - Ladies Auxiliary Club. She spent much of her time as an avid BINGO player and a talented poker and cribbage player.Kitty is survived by her husband of 54 years, Perry Green, and their four children: William Green of Colorado and wife, Cindi; Judy Cladny of Owings, Maryland and husband, Michael; Linda Nelson of Waldorf, Maryland and Nancy Brooks of Springfield, Virginia and husband, Danny; her brother, William J. Smith of Clinton, Maryland and two sisters, Viola Smith and Mildred Hammett of Springfield, Oregon; six grandchildren: Jenny Luongo; Jason Gott, Becky Gott, Kathy Nelson, Andrea Nelson and Matthew Nelson; and two great-grandchildren: Lauren and Joshua Luongo.She is predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Carruba and Helen ThompsonMemorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's County, P.O.
