Kathleen (Kay) was the beloved wife of the late Jack L. Mullen and the only child of Hobart and Emma (Todd) Pritchett. She leaves behind three children, Diana Mullen-Fines, Daniel Mullen and Tracy Mullen. She was called Granny by Patrick and Denise Fines, Ashleigh Fines and Chris Nelson, Richard Mullen, Ryan Mullen and Alaina Estes Mendez. Kay was called Great G by Lucas, Alexander, Everett, Emerson, Gregory, and Taylor. Kay was born in Washington DC and graduated from Anacostia High School in 1942 during World War II. As part of The Greatest Generation she sold War Bonds as her participation in the war effort. She was an usher at the Penn Theatre in Washington, DC. She played the violin as a child and teenager. Kay was an ice skater, a roller skater, a cadet in high school and a bowler. But, her greatest love was dancing and music, hitting the dance floor well into her 80's. Kay and Jack entered many jitterbug contests, winning trophies for their routines. Kay retired from Prince George's County Public Schools in 1992, after 26 years of service as a Special Education Teacher's Assistant. She loved working with the children often referring to them as "her children", saving every picture and card they gave her. Kay was an optimist, always her glass was full. She never let things get her down for too long. She was spunky, she was fun and full of laughter, traits we all should strive for. Kay lived a long and healthy life, for which we are grateful. We will miss her immensely, but are blessed to have had her as a wonderful mother and grandmother for as long as we had her. Dance on Mama, Dance on
