‘‘CELEBRATION OF LIFE” FOR KATHLEEN SMITH “LIVE IT UP, JAZZ IT UP AND ROCK ON” Kathleen Smith, also known as “Katie” passed away at the age of 94, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, and peacefully entered into her eternal home. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Eugene Hayden Smith. Family members celebrate Kathleen for her unconditional love, her encouragement, her sense of humor, her laughter, and her love and joy for life. She devoted her life to service as a day-care provider; a stock room manager in retail, and from the 1970’s until December 2018, was employed at the Smithsonian Institution as a Botany Museum Aide for over 40 years. She is survived by two children, Linda Ann DeLong, and Kenneth Hayden Smith, six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Celebration of Life service will be held at Chesapeake Church, 6201 Solomons Island Road, Huntingtown, MD 20639 on Thursday, June 6, 2019, beginning at 10:00 AM with reception at the church to follow. Interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to End Hunger c/o of Chesapeake Church at the address above.
