Kathlene Singh

Kathlene Singh was born at No. 40 Village, West Coast Berbice, Guyana, on April 16, 1941, to Mohan and Henrietta. She attended St. Jude’s Anglican School, Lichfield, West Coast Berbice. Kathlene moved from West Coast Berbice to Georgetown, where she resided with her siblings. She worked at Guyana Rice Marketing Board for a number of years. On July 17, 1963, Kathlene was united in holy matrimony with Tey (Teddy) Singh and they were happily married for 55 years. Their union brought forth two devoted children, Vijai and Sunil. On April 14, 1985, Kathlene and her family immigrated to the United States where they started a new life. She worked as an office manager until her retirement in 2003. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and kept in contact with those both near and far. Kathlene enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and listening to her favorite music by Jim Reeves and Elvis Presley. Everyone that entered her home felt loved and welcomed. She was a proud, independent and strong woman. Ever prim and proper, she would never step out of her home without styling her hair and having make-up on. One of her greatest accomplishments was obtaining her driver’s license at the age of fifty. Her strong spirit and determination helped her cope with many illnesses over the years. She was fortunate to have tremendous support from family and friends. She enjoyed her last Thanksgiving dinner with loved ones, surprising all with her appetite, and loving the attention she received. Kathlene was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Amy, Hilda, Lilleth, Olive and Lydia, and her brothers Cyril, Joseph, Leslie and Patrick. She leaves behind cherished memories for her husband Teddy, daughter Vijai, son Sunil, son-in-law Vickram, grandchildren Shawn and Steven, sister Elsie, brother Lloyd, sisters-in-law Katie and Santie, and her many nieces and nephews. Kathlene has found a place where angels sing and rejoice all day, where the Lord holds her hand and walks her through heaven’s land. We thank God for sharing her with us before calling her home on December 22, 2018. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
