Kathyrn M. “Kathy” Landon, 73, of Dunkirk, MD, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Kathy was born in Washington, DC to Raymond M. Eagan Sr. and Ethel M. (Newheiser.) After graduating from Elizabeth Seaton Catholic High School, she took accounting classes and in 1979 started working for Sauls Lithograph Co., in Washington, DC. as their Treasurer and Secretary. She remained there for 28 years until the printing industry declined and the company closed its doors in 2007. Through a longtime friendship with Linda McIntyre, she then continued her career with Jones & McIntyre, PLLC as a bookkeeper, where she was in the process of retiring after 17 years.
She married Harold F. “Skip” Landon Sr. on 4/2/1976 and her family quickly grew to include his children; Frank (Lisa), Mary (John) and Rob (Katie) and then, they later had two boys together, Daniel (Jodi) and Brian (Julie.) Kathy enjoyed spending time with the family, especially playing with her grandchildren, vacationing to her family home in Naples, FL., attending craft fairs, bowling, playing bingo, Sudoku, and Candy Crush, or simply enjoying the wildlife on the property she built her house on with her husband.
A beloved and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grand & great-grandmother was preceded in death by her husband Skip (2016) and his two sons; Frank (2023) and Rob (2012,) her brothers; Marty (2012) and Timmy (2017;) nephew Chad Jr. (2012) and Aunt Alice “Buddy” (2023.)
She is survived by her mother, Sissy Eagan, Godmother and Aunt, Mary Brooks, Aunt Margaret Klotz, siblings; Mary Ellen (Chad) Gillenwater Sr., Mark (Karen) Eagan and Chrissy (Bill) Hendricks, 3 children and daughter-in-law Katie (Pete,) Goddaughter Heather (Rick) Carter, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 12:30 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
