Kenneth John Langyher

Kenneth “Kenny” John Langyher, 46, of Alexandria,VA, died suddenly May 30, 2009, of a heart attack. Born March 13, 1963, he was the youngest of four children born to Charles E. and E. Lorraine Langyher. Kenny graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, MD, and attended St. Mary’s College. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving eight years - during Desert Storm and Desert Shield aboard the USS Ranger, CV-61. In 1988 he married his wife, Tina West, and they had three children .They later settled in Woodland, IL, where Kenny worked for the US Postal Service until his divorce in 1998. On his return to MD, Kenny worked at Central Glass before opening his own business, SKL Home Improvements, where he enjoyed incorporating his woodworking hobby into an enterprise; he was passionate and proud of his work.Kenny was a bowling enthusiast, enjoyed woodworking, and was an avid sports fan; he loved music and his guitar; he enjoyed time with his friends and family, including his extended family; and he loved his dog, GIR.His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children.In addition to his parents he is survived by his children, Keith Delahanty, Stephen, Kathleen, and Elizabeth Langyher; his siblings and their spouses Lawrence and Trish Langyher, Laurie and Ed Yates, Colleen and Steve Byram; nephews Brian Wiedmeier, and Joey Jerdak; long time companion Sharon Hoefler, and his beloved dog GIR.Visitation will be June 7, 2-6pm at Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, MD. Services will be held at Lee Funeral Home 1pm June 8, 2009 with internment immediately following at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
