Twyman, Sr., Pastor Obituary There is a time for everything in this short life on planet earth. Kevin Donnell Bowden the fourth of four children was born on January 30, 1984 in Washington, DC, to Roy E. and Lendora O. Bowden. He was a beautiful, bouncing baby boy, and he maintained his largeness throughout his entire life. Kevin’s love for his parents was superior. He was their Golden child. He never gave them cause for grave worry. He always strived to make life better for his parents by his obedience, honor, respect, and devotion. He showered them with gifts of love. Often times in general and private conversations with his mother he called her “Lendora”, he loved to see them smile. Kevin loved writing, reading the Holy Bible, novels, fiction and non-fiction. He liked music Hip Hop, Rhythm and Blues and a variety of instrumental musical styles. Kevin was educated in the DC Public and Maryland schools. He graduated from Surratsville High School in June 2002. Kevin played basketball for Stephen Decatur Recreation Center from 1994 through 2000. He loved Football and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. At a young age Kevin attended Independent Baptist Church Youth Summer Bible Study Programs. In School Kevin loved to make his classmates laugh. He continued to be very studious. In High School he joined the ROTC and was very proud of the training he received. That was the flame that fanned the desire to become a police officer. Kevin was accepted to the Prince Georges County Police Department and began Session 109 on July 10, 2006. He was known as a joker to many. He was loved by his academy buddies. When he graduated he was assigned to Squad 25 and then Squad 45. Kevin was on the Prince Georges County Police Force for six (6) years ID# 3087 Kevin was a devoted father to his three children DeAndre Bowden, 11 years old, Joshua Shaw 3 years old, and his daughter Mahogany Carey 5 years old he was a strong disciplinarian (speaking in a soft voice, “be consistent and obedient in all things.”) Kevin was all family time, he enjoyed family time with his sister and two brothers and huge extended family. Aunts Octavia, Gwen and his sister, LaSharn were everything to him. Kevin was preceded in death by a sister, Sheril Marie Bowden an aunt, Donna Dickleson. He leaves in the wake of his passing to fairer worlds on high, two sons, DeAndre Bowden and Joshua Shaw; one daughter, Mahogany Carey. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Bowden of Clinton, MD; a sister, LaSharn Bowden of Washington, DC; two brothers, Dwayne Bowden of Greenville, TN, and Roy D. Bowden of Clinton, MD. Four nephews, Bishop Kiem, Zachary Janey, Ayden Bowden, and Jaxxon Bowden; three nieces, Joycelynn Bowden, Jasmyn Bowden, and Diamond Tramun-Bowden. Six aunts, Mary Taylor, Paulette White, Sierra Dixon (William) Erlene and Gwendolyn Lawrence; and Grandmother Elizabeth E. Lawrence all of Washington, DC. Three Great Aunts, Helen Lomax, Mary Ann Kidd of Washington, DC, Ludie Kidd of Bowie, MD, one Great Great Aunt, Olether Turner, of Forestville MD, one Great Uncle, Will Kidd (Dora) of Washington, DC; four uncles Samuel Banner of Baltimore, MD, Anthony Lawrence (Lois) of Magnolia, DE, John Lawrence (Pat), of Felton, DE, Titus Lawrence (Calandra) of Washington, DC; and one Special Uncle, Alfonso Tolliver (Vivian), of Mays Landing, NJ. A devoted cousin, Dr. Merriel Neal (Dr, Arthur Lee) of Clarsville, TN, and Tinesha Hinson, of Washington, DC; and a host of cousins, special friends and co-workers.
