Kevin Dykes

Walter “Kevin” Dykes, of Cheltenham, MD passed on January 15, 2018 at the age of 51. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Roslyn Dykes and Walter Scales. Kevin’s journey began in Brooklyn, attending and graduating from Adirondack Central High in Boonville, NY. Sports came naturally to Kevin and he received a college scholarship for Track & Field to Cortland University, in Cortland, NY. He studied communications and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. Following college, Kevin moved to Maryland and pursued a career in the computer field. He worked at NCR (National Cash Register) and then went on to do contract work as an Information Technology Specialist with the Federal Government. Kevin enjoyed sports and worked out consistently. He met the love of his life in Veronica in 2004 and two years later, they married. Family was always first. He loved his visits with Aunt Olivia "Libby" Staggers in Norfolk, VA. Words are hard to find to express the sorrow his family is feeling because of his untimely death. Everyone who knew Kevin partook in the benefits of his sweet tooth. Kevin would always show up with the best cakes and the most decadent deserts.
