LaRhonda D. Ramsey received her wings on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020. She was embraced at the Gates of Heaven by her father, Chester E. Ramsey, her brother, Darnell J. Ramsey, her grandparents James & Hilda Brown, and her Aunt Maria D. Trower. LaRhonda was born in Cheverly, MD at UM Prince Georges Hospital Center to Estella and Chester Ramsey on April 16, 1971. LaRhonda attended Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD, where she joined the NJROTC Program. Upon graduation, she obtained a Certification in Phlebotomy and used those skills at Kaiser Permanente. Additionally, she earned a certification as a Medical Office Assistant. LaRhonda became interested in sign language as she supervised and transported disabled individuals while working at Metro Access. She became fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and earned a certification from Prince Georges Community College. She was preparing to attend Gallaudet University for a higher level of certification in sign language to qualify as an on-call sign language interpreter for the deaf. Rhonda was an inspiration to everyone she touched. A woman with strength, commitment and focus; with endless communication skills that she used throughout her life. Rhonda cherished every moment she shared with family and friends. This is where she felt most comfortable; just laughing, telling jokes and sharing memories. One of her fondest cherished relationships was with her brother, “Man”. They often would have lengthy heart-to-heart conversations. She took pictures upon pictures that captured her most enjoyable moments of her life. Everyone who was close to her knew that she would always have a joke for you, with a big laugh. One of her funny and favorite titles that she would place on you if she asked you to do something for her was: "Thank you! Very much slave girl/boy!" She would give a big smile, laugh and wink her eye as you carried out the task with your new title. LaRhonda was a devoted Christian and accepted Jesus Christ into her life over 30 years ago. A devoted and loyal family member and friend. She was strong in her belief of God and she tried to live by the Lord’s will everyday. Although she was met with many medical and health challenges the last few years of her life, she stood strong in her faith and her commitment to her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lorraine C. Ramsey and Avery C. Trower; her mother, Estella L. Trower; her brother, Emanuel C. Heard (Gwendolyn), aunts and uncles, Janet & Martin Lawson and Larry and Atlener Trower, cousin, Anthony L. Campbell. Along with a host of cousins, niece’s and nephew’s, special relatives and devoted friends. https://www.fundafamily.com/Family.aspx?ID=626
